| Indianapolis, Ind., Aug 2, 1999 - Nachi America, Inc., Bearings Division, recently debuted its new EX_Type high capacity spherical roller thrust bearings line. The EX-Type bearings are designed to carry high axial loads in various applications. Improving on the popular E-Type bearing, the EX-Type is ideal for injection molding machines, cranes and vertical shaft electric motors.
Nachi's EX-Type bearings incorporate a newly-developed, R-shape, pressed steel cage. The new cage design maximizes lubrication flow and is chemically resistant to most corrosive lubricants, even at elevated operating temperatures. The EX-Type bearings can be used at temperatures up to 200øC with minimal dimensional changes occurring. Heat generation is caused by the sliding motion between inner ring flange and roller end during high speed operation. Nachi's new EX-Type bearings reduce heat generation by 10 percent. Speed is also increased by 10 percent compared to the conventional E-Type design.
Additionally, bearing life has been increased by nearly two times over Nachi's
E-Type bearings. In order to achieve the maximum load carrying capacity, roller diameter, quantity and effective roller length have been maximized.
